In the early 1980s, Troy Lee, an aspiring professional motocross racer from Southern California, discovered his true calling. While painting helmets for his racing friends, Troy realized that his passion for design and creativity surpassed his racing ambitions. He decided to fully devote himself to the art and science of helmet design, laying the foundation for what would become Troy Lee Designs.
